Now that you’ve had a quick look at the top 3 WordPress themes we recommend, please keep reading!

In the next sections, we’ll review these themes and many more in greater detail to help you choose the best theme for your website.

How We Test and Review the Best WordPress Themes

Choosing the right WordPress theme involves understanding two main categories: niche-specific and multipurpose.

Many website owners lean towards niche themes tailored for their specific industry needs, like a restaurant theme. These come with specialized features ready to go, making setup a breeze.

On the other hand, multipurpose themes offer a lot more customization. They’re flexible enough for any website type, allowing you to tweak every detail to match your vision.

No matter your preference, we focused on key features when selecting themes for this showcase:

  • Mobile-responsive design: We noticed that all the popular WordPress themes are responsive and retina-ready. This makes your WordPress website look great on all screen sizes and mobile devices.
  • SEO optimization: During our research, we prioritized themes that follow SEO (search engine optimization) best practices so your website can rank higher in search results.
  • Page builder support: What we really liked about these themes is their compatibility with popular WordPress drag-and-drop page builders. This helps you create custom landing pages whenever you need them.
  • Speed and performance: A theme plays an important role in the speed and performance of your website. We looked for themes that are well-designed to keep your site fast.
  • Customer support: Our experts performed several tests on the best themes for WordPress and picked the ones that include documentation, easy-to-follow instructions, are updated often, and are backed by an excellent customer support team to help you if you get stuck.

Each theme in this list boasts additional features beyond these essentials, which are detailed in the descriptions below. Selecting a theme is a big step, and our choices are crafted to support your website journey successfully.

Why Trust WPBeginner?

Our WPBeginner team brings over 16 years of WordPress expertise. We’ve got the insights on themes, plugins, SEO, and more. And we’re passionate about sharing that knowledge. 🤩

We don’t just recommend themes; we rigorously test them to ensure they meet our high standards. Our focus is on speed, design, feature set, and ease of use, so you get the best guidance.

Feel reassured knowing our recommendations are backed by experience and thorough research. Curious about how we do it? Check our detailed WPBeginner editorial process.

I’m looking for a website revamp and trying to find a theme. I’ve been a Studiopress user for years (since 2008) but it seems like many are moving away. I noticed that you have several Studiopress themes listed. Do you still recommend the Genesis framework?

    • WPBeginner Support

It would depend on how you want your site to work but we still recommend the themes at the moment.

Among all these mentioned themes, Astra and oceanwp are my favourite.
Both these themes come with lot of functionalities and customisations.
These are the perfect choice and beginner friendly.
We can use these two to make any kind of websites, be it ecommerce store, blog or any other kind of online businesses.

Among the mentioned ones, I use Astru and Sydney. Both are excellent appearance templates. Sydney, in addition, has a sticky header, which is handy for certain websites. Otherwise, both these templates are truly a great choice, and I can recommend them.

Thank you for sharing the themes you’re using :)
